Recognised in the Scottish Parliament

In a debate at the Scottish Parliament on 28 November 2024, Edinburgh Northern and Leith MSP Ben Macpherson highlighted the work of Midnight & Beyond, formerly FACENorth, as an example of the difference youth work can make in communities.

He spoke about the charity’s work with young men in North Edinburgh who had previously been involved in fireworks-night issues. He told Parliament that, following two years of engagement, investment and partnership working, the area had not experienced the same issues seen elsewhere in the city. He also recognised the collaboration between youth work organisations, the council and Police Scotland.

For us, this recognition reflects what consistent, relationship-led work can achieve: building trust, creating alternatives and supporting young people to make positive choices.
