MIDNIGHT & BEYOND  /  THE LATEST

A Partnership Helping Prevent Youth Crime

The Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA) featured Midnight & Beyond in a case study exploring how community partnerships can help prevent youth crime.

The case study focuses on our partnership with West Granton Housing Co-operative and the importance of showing up consistently for young people. It highlights the trust built through activities, late-night engagement, outdoor experiences and practical support with life skills, training and employment.

Taking our story to the SFHA Annual Conference

That recognition led to another important opportunity. In 2024, Midnight & Beyond was invited to speak as a guest speaker at the SFHA Annual Conference. We shared our journey, talked about our partnership with West Granton Housing Co-operative and explained the impact of our work with young men in North Edinburgh to housing professionals from across Scotland.

Our story reached the news too

The work was also featured in a news report about the launch of the SFHA’s report. You can watch the coverage below.

The case study also recognises the practical support West Granton Housing Co-operative has provided over the years, including help with our development as a charity and a base within the community. It includes the perspective of its Chief Executive, who praises the team’s dedication and the support available to young people at times when many other services are closed.

We’re proud that this partnership has helped bring the work of Midnight & Beyond to a wider audience — and grateful to West Granton Housing Co-operative and SFHA for recognising and sharing it.
